Events — on-chain transactions (preban / ban / unban / destroy). Addresses — unique wallets. The same address may go through multiple events during its lifecycle, so events always outnumber addresses.
How many USDT Tether has frozen cumulatively to each point in time — estimated by the address balance at the moment of its first ban. Split by ETH and TRON. The monetary view often matters more than the address count: one large hot wallet can outweigh thousands of small ones.
How many hours pass between the early warning and the block execution. Median — typical case; mean — accounting for long tails; P90 — worst "normal" case.
How long passes between a freeze being proposed in Tether's multisig and it being executed. Above — the share of each regime by month; below — every blacklisting as a single dot. A zero window means the signature and the execution landed in the same block: at that point there is no moment left to warn anyone.
The lower chart shows an even sample of the dots — density is preserved, but not every blacklisting is drawn. The shares and the tiles are computed over all pairs.
While compliance procedures run and evidence is gathered, funds have time to leave. Every third Tether ban hits an already-empty address — balance ≤ $1 USDT. This characterizes the lag of the blacklist status.
